Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red: The Southern Rhône Icon

As France’s first official AOC, Châteauneuf-du-Pape stands as a benchmark for southern Rhône excellence. Its red wines are renowned for power, structure and extraordinary aromatic depth.

A legendary terroir

Located between Orange and Avignon, the vineyards are known for their large, heat-retaining galets roulés (round pebbles). These soils, combined with 13 authorized grape varieties — led by Grenache — create a unique growing environment.

Rich and noble style

Expect flavors of black jammy fruits, sweet spices, leather, herbs and a touch of cocoa. On the palate, Châteauneuf reds are full-bodied, with powerful yet refined tannins and impressive length.

A wine for cellaring

Capable of aging 10 to 15 years or more, these wines develop increasing complexity with time. After a few years, they shine with sophistication, perfect for fine dining occasions.

Food pairings

Exceptional with roasted lamb, game stews, prune lamb tagines or aged cheeses — a true gastronomic wine.
