Our history

At MONY & Co, we believe that wine is above all a story of passion, encounters and transmission. It was this conviction that prompted Gilles Mony to found the company alongside his wife Christine.

A family adventure born of a passion for wine

With over 30 years of experience, Gilles Mony has built a rich and passionate career, guided by taste, dedication and meaningful human connections :

  • Recognized early on as Best Young Sommelier in several French wine regions, later awarded Best Sommelier of Champagne and finalist for the national title of Best Sommelier of France,
  • Head sommelier for 3-star Michelin chef Marc Veyrat in Annecy,
  • Wine buyer and sommelier advisor for a major wine trading company in Provence,
  • Manager of wine estates and co-director of a négociant business in Saint-Émilion,
  • Co-owner of the iconic wine shop Au Verger de la Madeleine in Paris,
  • And finally, founder of MONY & Co, an independent house dedicated to rare and exceptional wines.

A path shaped by sincerity, curiosity, and a lifelong love for great wines.

Founded in 2010, MONY & Co was born from a simple desire: to offer quality wines that are accessible, sincere, and always well advised.
Based in Brive-la-Gaillarde, in the heart of France, our central location makes it easy to connect with winegrowers and clients throughout the country.

A family adventure, but also a collective one

A close-knit team united by strong values

Alexandre Mony

Gilles’ eldest son, Alexandre joined the company in 2013 after gaining experience in London with a major wine trading firm. He brings a modern and international vision to the project.

Victorine

Victorine joined the team in 2019 as an apprentice and quickly proved herself indispensable. She now holds a key position, combining customer service, logistics and daily operations.

Julien

Gilles’ second son, Julien became cellar manager in 2020. He ensures the proper preparation of orders, manages inventory, and maintains the highest quality standards for every shipment.

Lucas

Following a successful apprenticeship, Lucas officially joined in 2025 the team and now strengthens the logistics department, actively contributing to MONY & Co’s day-to-day operations.
