Rare and emblematic grape varieties
Savagnin is the iconic white grape, used especially in wines aged under flor (like Vin Jaune). Jura Chardonnay, meanwhile, is known for its mineral, fresh character. Some estates also grow rare indigenous grapes such as Melon à Queue Rouge.
A spectrum of unique styles
Jura whites range from oxidative wines with walnut and curry aromas to linear, precise, classically vinified whites. This diversity makes Jura one of the most original white wine regions in France, where every bottle is a signature expression.
High-altitude terroir and diversity
Set between 250 and 400 meters, the vineyards grow on marl-limestone soils. A continental climate with marked day-night contrasts allows slow ripening and preserves vibrant acidity, ideal for structured and expressive whites.
Food pairings
Oxidative Jura whites pair beautifully with creamy poultry dishes, wild mushrooms and aged cheeses like Comté. Fresher styles shine with river fish, seasonal vegetables or delicate plant-based cuisine.
