Château Clauzet: Elegant Red Wine from Saint-Estèphe

Located in the heart of the Saint-Estèphe appellation, Château Clauzet is a historic estate that reflects the richness and power of Médoc’s great wines. Owned by Maurice Velge since the 1990s, the estate has undergone a true renaissance, with renewed focus on vineyard care and precision winemaking.

The vineyard spans about 23 hectares, planted on the clay-limestone gravel soils typical of Saint-Estèphe. Plantings are dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon, complemented by Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, creating blends of structure, roundness and complexity.

Viticulture is carried out with the utmost care, respecting the environment and enhancing terroir expression. Manual harvesting ensures strict grape selection and high-quality fruit. In the cellar, winemaking is meticulous, supported by perfectly judged ageing in French oak barrels.

Château Clauzet wines are admired for their aromatic intensity, powerful yet elegant tannins, and impressive ageing potential. They reveal notes of ripe dark fruit, spice and well-integrated oak, balanced by refreshing minerality.
