Classified as a Third Growth in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, Château d’Issan is located in the heart of the Margaux appellation, one of the Médoc’s most prestigious. Famous for being served at the 1152 wedding of Eleanor of Aquitaine and Henry II Plantagenet, the estate stands as a symbol of elegance and history.

The vineyard extends over about 44 hectares, planted on gravel and clay soils that bring both finesse and depth. Cabernet Sauvignon dominates the plantings, complemented by Merlot, with small amounts of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, providing aromatic richness and complexity to the blends.

Viticulture is carried out with precision and respect for terroir, following a sustainable, parcel-based approach. Manual harvesting and tailored vinifications ensure each parcel’s character is revealed. Oak barrel ageing, carefully balanced, delivers the perfect harmony of intensity, freshness and elegance.

Château d’Issan wines are admired for their refined bouquet of dark fruit, violet and spice, their silky texture and remarkable length. With exceptional ageing potential, they are sought after by wine lovers and collectors worldwide.

A true emblem of Margaux’s refinement, Château d’Issan embodies the timeless nobility and grandeur of Bordeaux’s greatest wines.
