Château Rayas – Legendary Natural Red Wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape

Located in the northeast of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation, Château Rayas is one of the most legendary estates in the southern Rhône Valley. Founded in the 19th century and run by the Reynaud family for generations, it has earned worldwide acclaim for its unique style and highly limited production.

The vineyard covers around 20 hectares, though only part is planted, with plantings dominated by Grenache. The vines thrive on sandy soils, unusual for the appellation, which impart finesse and freshness to the wines, standing in contrast to the typical power of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.

Viticulture follows artisanal, respectful practices, with meticulous care for each vine. Yields are deliberately kept very low, ensuring remarkable concentration. In the cellar, winemaking is minimalist, focusing on authenticity and purity of expression, with ageing carried out in old oak casks.

Château Rayas red wines are admired for their ethereal bouquet of red fruits, flowers and sweet spices, their silky texture and their exceptional length. The whites, produced in very limited quantities, offer freshness, balance and rare elegance.
