Côtes du Marmandais: Balanced Reds from Between Bordeaux and the Southwest

Located near the town of Marmande along the right bank of the Garonne, Côtes du Marmandais AOC bridges Bordeaux and Southwest France. It features a mix of classic and local grapes like Abouriou, Merlot and Cabernet.

A terroir between ocean and Gascony

Clay-limestone and gravel soils support healthy vine growth. The oceanic climate, tempered by the Garonne River, allows slow ripening and aromatic complexity.

Fruity, spicy and well-balanced style

These reds offer notes of black cherry, blackberry, pepper, dried herbs and forest floor. On the palate, they are medium-bodied, with soft to moderate tannins and a fresh finish.

A characterful and underrated gem

Often overshadowed by Bordeaux, Côtes du Marmandais wines are approachable, original and great value. Some can age, but many are perfect for drinking young and vibrant.

Food pairings

Pair with grilled steak, lamb skewers, vegetable pies or classic bistro fare. Great for flavorful everyday meals.
