2013 Brunello Di Montalcino Pieve Santa Restituta Sugarille Gaja
Founded in 1859 in Barbaresco, Piedmont, Domaine Gaja is a true legend of Italian wine. Under the leadership of Angelo Gaja, who took over the family estate in the 1960s, the domaine transformed Piedmont viticulture with a bold, modern vision while remaining rooted in tradition. Today, the name Gaja stands worldwide for prestige and innovation.
The vineyard spans about 100 hectares, mainly planted with Nebbiolo, Piedmont’s emblematic grape, along with Barbera, Dolcetto, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. The clay-limestone and marl soils of Barbaresco and Barolo provide ideal conditions for producing powerful, complex wines with extraordinary ageing potential.
The domaine’s philosophy is based on meticulous, environmentally respectful viticulture and close attention to every detail. In the cellar, winemaking blends tradition with modern techniques, with precise ageing that enhances elegance and depth.
Iconic cuvées such as Barbaresco, Sperss, Costa Russi and Sori Tildin embody the estate’s greatness and unique identity. They are renowned for their aromatic intensity, refined structure and remarkable longevity.
Highly sought after by collectors and praised by international critics, Gaja wines have become icons, representing Italian excellence and the timeless nobility of Piedmont.
