Both vineyard workers, Armelle and Jean-Michel Molin established their own estate in 1987 in Fixin, in the heart of the Côte de Nuits in Côte-d’Or. Through passion and hard work, they gradually developed it over time, cultivating several appellations: Marsannay, Fixin, Fixin Premier Cru, Mazis-Chambertin, and others.

In 2004, their son Alexandre joined the estate, sharing the ambition to convert it to organic farming. This became a reality in 2007, with the first certified organic harvest in 2010. In 2017, they decided to produce a first no-added-sulfites cuvée, aged in a Tuscan terracotta jar, using the Fixin Blanc “Les Ormeaux”, in order to preserve the full authenticity of the fruit and the terroir. In 2019, the same method was applied to a red wine, Côte de Nuits “Les Créoles”, with an equally satisfying result, marked by aromas of wild berries and liquorice. These two cuvées thus round out the estate’s range of wines.

The estate farms 8 hectares of vineyards (both white and red) with deep respect for its terroir. “Our terroir is our main working tool. In a way, it shapes the vine and its fruit, allows the different grape varieties to express themselves, and enables the wines to reveal their full authenticity. It is therefore essential to care for it and preserve it,” says Alexandre Molin.

Vinification then begins with 100% destemmed grapes, handled as gently as possible to keep only whole berries. This encourages highly fruit-forward aromas and brings greater flavor, roundness, and suppleness to the wines. From there, it is all about attentiveness, precision, and passion intervening only when necessary.
