Pessac-Léognan White: Bordeaux’s Grand Dry White Wines
Home to Bordeaux’s finest dry whites, the Pessac-Léognan appellation lies just south of the city, on noble gravel soils. It produces expressive, age-worthy wines of great freshness and aromatic complexity.
Noble and complementary grape varieties
Sauvignon Blanc brings brightness and aromatic lift, while Sémillon adds volume and structure. A hint of Muscadelle may round out the blend. Together, they create rich, elegant and layered wines.
A balance of tension and depth
Pessac-Léognan whites show aromas of citrus, white fruits, flowers, and often toasty or brioche notes from oak aging. The palate combines crisp acidity with creamy texture and a long, mineral finish.
A gastronomic and age-worthy white
These are dry Bordeaux whites built to age gracefully. They pair beautifully with refined dishes and evolve into complex, expressive wines over time.
Food pairings
Perfect with sauced fish, noble shellfish, creamy risottos, roast poultry or aged cheeses like Comté or goat cheese. Serve at 10–12°C for optimal enjoyment.
