Located just northwest of Carcassonne, Cabardès is the only Languedoc AOC that requires a blend of Atlantic and Mediterranean grapes. This dual influence creates uniquely balanced red wines with freshness and spice.
Vines grow between 200 and 400 meters above sea level, on limestone, schist and sandstone soils. The Cers (dry western wind) and the Marin (moist sea wind) help maintain freshness and slow ripening.
Cabardès reds must combine Atlantic grapes (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon) with Mediterranean ones (Syrah, Grenache). This results in wines that are ripe, aromatic, fresh and slightly spicy — with soft tannins and good aging potential.
Cabardès offers a unique style: supple, balanced and expressive. These reds are accessible young yet refined enough for sophisticated meals.
