Corbières-Boutenac is the first and only recognized cru within the Corbières AOC. Nestled between pine forests and rocky plateaus, it produces some of the finest reds in the Languedoc, led by noble old-vine Carignan.
Gravel, sandstone, and hard limestone soils, combined with hot, dry winds, give rise to concentrated, structured wines with finesse. The surrounding garrigue and elevation lend complexity and aromatic freshness.
Carignan forms the backbone of these wines, blended with Syrah, Grenache, and sometimes Mourvèdre. Expect notes of ripe black fruits, leather, herbs, spice, and a long, persistent finish.
Corbières-Boutenac reds are bold yet refined — powerful but balanced, with serious aging potential and gastronomic appeal.
Pair with roast leg of lamb, wild game stew, beef daube, or grilled aged meats. Best enjoyed after a few years of aging or decanted before serving.
