Located in Villié-Morgon, at the heart of Beaujolais, Domaine Jean Foillard is a benchmark for wine lovers seeking natural and authentic expressions. Carrying on a family tradition, Jean Foillard became one of the pioneers of the “natural wine” movement in the 1980s, alongside Marcel Lapierre, Guy Breton and Jean-Paul Thévenet.

The vineyard spans around 15 hectares, mostly in the Morgon appellation, with prime parcels on the famous Côte du Py. This iconic terroir, with decomposed schist and manganese soils, allows Gamay to reveal depth, intensity and character.

The domaine’s philosophy emphasizes environmentally respectful viticulture, free from herbicides and synthetic chemicals. Harvesting is done by hand, and winemaking follows the traditional Beaujolais method with carbonic maceration and indigenous yeasts. The wines are neither chaptalized nor filtered, with minimal use of sulfur.

Jean Foillard’s cuvées stand out for their freshness, vibrant fruit and silky texture. Deliciously approachable in their youth, they also age gracefully, developing layers of black cherry, spice and minerality.

Celebrated and sought after worldwide, Jean Foillard wines embody the sincerity and vitality of Beaujolais’s greatest terroirs.
