Griotte-Chambertin is a tiny Grand Cru in Gevrey-Chambertin, covering just 2.7 hectares. South of Clos de Bèze, it produces Pinot Noir of rare delicacy, with precise fruit expression and a silky texture.
Griotte wines show bright ruby color and aromas of Morello cherry, raspberry, dried flowers and subtle spice. On the palate: finesse, silky tannins and vibrant freshness. A wine of charm and precision.
Less powerful than Chambertin, Griotte-Chambertin expresses elegance and aromatic purity. With time, it develops noble tertiary aromas while preserving its graceful structure.
With thin limestone soils and excellent drainage, this east-facing terroir gives rise to finely structured, terroir-driven wines that reward both early drinking and patient cellaring.
Ideal with roasted pigeon, quail with grapes, veal sweetbreads or any fine-textured, elegant cuisine. Perfect for subtle, gastronomic pairings.
