Located at the southern end of Côte Chalonnaise, Montagny is an appellation devoted exclusively to white wine. Chardonnay here reveals a vibrant, taut and generous style rooted in limestone-rich, high-altitude soils.
Mainly limestone soils and southeast-facing slopes bring mineral tension and aromatic ripeness to Montagny wines. Many vineyards are classified as Premier Cru, underlining the quality of this underrated appellation.
Montagny whites display aromas of lemon, white flowers, fresh almond and flint. On the palate, they show liveliness, moderate roundness and a crisp, often saline finish.
