Pierrevert Red: A Delicate Balance of Alpine Freshness and Southern Warmth

Located in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence, Pierrevert is the northernmost appellation in Provence. Its reds benefit from cooler conditions due to altitude, offering a fresher, more refined take on Mediterranean grapes.

A southern-facing mountain vineyard

Vines grow between 400 and 600 meters above sea level on stony limestone soils. Grenache and Syrah dominate, sometimes blended with Carignan or Mourvèdre, often crafted with finesse and drinkability in mind.

Fresh, fruity and balanced reds

Pierrevert reds offer aromas of cherry, raspberry, white pepper and wild herbs. On the palate: fresh, smooth and highly digestible wines with soft tannins and lively acidity.

An appellation to rediscover

Still under the radar, Pierrevert appeals to those seeking freshness and subtlety in southern red wines — a mountain perspective on Provence.
