From the prestigious Côte Blonde sector, the La Comtesse lieu-dit is one of the crown jewels of Domaine Christophe Pichon. Planted on light-colored schist soils, it produces Syrah of exceptional finesse and sensuality. The 2020 vintage, warm and harmonious, yields a wine of both intensity and grace, with concentrated fruit, silky texture, and remarkable freshness.

Blend
100% Syrah – hand-harvested, destemmed, aged 18 months in French oak barrels (50% new).

Tasting notes
• Appearance: Deep ruby with violet edges.
• Nose: Black cherry, peony, incense, blond tobacco, hint of licorice.
• Palate: Velvety texture, ultra-fine tannins, long finish, superb balance of depth, freshness, and floral elegance.

Aging potential
Best from 2025, with a plateau between 2028 and 2042.

Stuffed pigeon, sweetbreads with morels, herb-crusted rack of lamb, lamb tagine with dried fruits.
