Less known than its whites, Saint-Aubin red wines are gaining in reputation. Grown from Pinot Noir on well-exposed slopes, they offer a sincere and elegant expression of Côte de Beaune finesse.
The red vineyards are often planted on airy hillsides between 300 and 400 meters in elevation. The shallow clay-limestone soils promote slow ripening and delicate tannic structure.
Saint-Aubin reds reveal aromas of cherry, redcurrant, raspberry, peony and subtle spice. On the palate: vibrant acidity, silky tannins and a fresh, digestible finish — a pure and unadorned Pinot Noir style.
