Description
The “Empreintes” cuvée is Domaine Durand’s bold, authentic take on Cornas. Made from 30 to 60-year-old Syrah vines grown on steep granite slopes, it delivers all the power and depth the appellation is known for. The warm but balanced 2020 vintage yields a dense, structured wine with ripe tannins and remarkable length, all handled with the estate’s signature precision.

Blend
100% Syrah – hand-harvested, traditional vinification, aged 14–18 months in oak barrels (15% new).

Tasting notes
• Appearance: Deep purple with violet highlights.
• Nose: Blackberry, blackcurrant, violet, black pepper, and a touch of smoky minerality.
• Palate: Full-bodied and dense, with powerful yet polished tannins, great intensity, and a long finish of spice and warm stone.

Aging potential
Best from 2025; excellent aging potential through 2040.
